Eddie likes to think he's pretty good at reading Billy by now, noticing the little ways he gives his thoughts away. There's enough of a positive response at the touch that Eddie slides his hand fully onto Billy's thigh, lets it settle firmly there, and squeezes. Part of him wants to say 'sorry', is that what you say when someone dies? Not that he'd mean his 'sorry' like that. It feels like the stupidest fucking idea in the world.

"Dunno if you want to talk," He lets his gaze drift away from Billy, doesn't want to seem like he's staring. "But I'm here if you do."
