The only thing that might be worse than letting Billy drive in his current state would be trying to convince him not to, and so Eddie says nothing as he climbs into the passenger side. He tries his best not to stare, doesn't want Billy to think he's watching him like some kind of zoo animal. As they pull away, Eddie fidgets with the too long cuffs of his sleeves, teases out a loose thread. The gears of his mind click and whirl, try to cobble together a sentence that will make everything alright.
"Why don't we get out of Hawkins?" He says abruptly, breaking the tense silence. It's what most of the town has already done. The rest of their rag tag group had been lingering in varying capacities, waiting for the next bit of evil to emerge. Eddie doesn't think they'd hold a few days away against them. "Get a room somewhere. I've got some cash saved up."
