In other circumstances, an 'okay' might hurt. Eddie has all but opened up his heart up, let his most fragile feelings spill out. But right now, 'okay' feels like a hell of a lot. Especially when he's just had Billy sobbing against him, even with how abruptly it ends. Eddie stands, unsteady as the whiskey seems to suddenly flood through him. But they're both standing now, however precarious.
"Come on," He says softly, tugging them towards the bed. It creaks beneath them as the collapse down onto it, the threadbare quilt flattening beneath them. All of this is played by ear, Eddie trying desperately with every passing moment to make things alright.
"I've got you," Eddie pulls Billy close, winds his arms around him. "I'm sorry if-- I'm sorry that you've gone so long without someone telling you they love you."
